Mutated Beginings Chapter 1: The Foot Master

I lost them once, I ain't gonna lose them again.

New York City. Strange place to start my 'Destiny'. I remember those exact words she uttered to me after my... demise.
'You search for an answer which will make you feel whole. Two Masters of the Arts will show you your path to destiny. Choose wisely, for one has a traitorous soul while the other has a loyal heart of gold. Destiny starts at a place you missed most.'
My elder was always one to babble nonsense, but I supposed it'll make sense. First of all I started with finding a 'place I missed most'. Well that was easy, NYC. Man, did I love going there when I was little. My family and I went there every year for Christmas. The worst part about the trip was knowing you had to leave the snow covered buildings in the end. So I guess I missed that place most. Anyway, I had to find a place to live first, so I found this comfy small complex at the top of an old building. Apparently it was an Art Studio once, but for the canvas and paints kind, I on the other hand turned it into my kind of Art Studio. Ninjitsu. Not kidding you, been trained since I first learned how to walk... literally. My dad taught me how to balance as soon as he could. I am a professionally trained Kunoich and Mistress of Agility. To become Mistress of Agility you must be honored by your sensei, leader and elder. That is the reason why I have to find the 'Two Masters' cause they're the only ones who can condemn myself worthy for fulfilling my 'Destiny'. Honestly, I don't even know what the heck my so-called 'Destiny' is but hey, learned not to mess with it. After words I enrolled myself in a school called Roosevelt High School, where I had met a curious but friendly redhead named April O'Neil and a big-toothgapped hockey idiot called Casey Jones. I don't know how I became friends with them, maybe it was the fact that both of them kept following me and 'hanging out' with me. Seriously I don't know, but to be frank I enjoy their company. Once I got settled I began searching the city for my alleged 'Masters' and heard some strange things going about the place. Like newspaper headings screaming 'FREAKS ROAMING THE CITY' or maybe even 'THE MONSTERS SEEM TO COME AND GO: WHO ARE THE HEROS?'. That isn't the only thing, gossip hits a girls ears fast. " You know Simon, the fat guy that lived next to me with his TV blaring 24/7? Yeah he's been missing for quite some time" and "Daddy, I am not lying I saw them... the Talkin T-" " Maggie, SHHH. People will think you're nuts!". But the best thing that I happened to find were the Foot.


" Did you even study at all last night, Jones?"
" For your information, I did! For a whole 10 minutes, so there!"
That's what I hear pretty much every day from April and Casey. Ohmygawd, they sound like a married couple at times... ew.
" 10 MINUTES? Darn it, Casey, at this rate you'll go back a grade! Don't you ever think about your future Academics?!" raved April.
" Acasmemics more to me. I mean come on why bother? I got sport and that doesn't need a history test score, now does it?" snapped Casey back, his voice rising.
" Yes, it does!"
" No, it doesn't!"
" Yes!"
" No!"
" Yes!"
" No!"
" Yes!!"
" SHUT UP!" I bark at the two.
They both looked like I just slapped them across the face with a salami. I've never raised my voice at them, but honestly that bickering really gets to ya.
" Look, I get it that your miffed at Casey, April, but yelling at him gets pointless. If he screws up his life it's his problem not yours. No offense Casey, but you gotta try. Whether you like it or not. It's late, I'm tired and I want to sleep."
" That's pretty much all you ever do" mutters Casey.
April shoots him a cold look, turns to me and smiles, yet with sad eyes.
" Sorry, Mona Lisa. I understand what you said but I am not going to let Jones throw his life away because of his pig-headedness."
" Well he is a guy, so..." I snicker.
Casey just throws his hands in there air while looking at both at us with a face like 'WTF?'
Stifling a fake yawn I tell them both I'm gonna turn in for the night. After they said goodnight and left (I checked to make sure that both didn't stick around) I slipped down the alleyway and over the fourfeet wall to the other side. That's when the machine fell from the sky.


It didn't exactly fall from the sky, but it was probably kicked over. Dang, was that strange Bot trashed! It was sliced clean through by a katana blade, only that weapon makes such a clean cut... That's when I thought to myself why the heck is there a ROBOT AT MY FEET SLASHED BY A KATANA??? Quickly I retraced where the Bot came from, and that's when I got the shock of my life. Ninjas with several arms were encircling FOUR FREAKING HUGE TURTLES!!!! That were holding ninjitsu weapons... and were wearing multicolored bandanas... and could speak FREAKING ENGLISH?! Then this girl bout my age showed up. She was wearing a Kunoich battle uniform, had a black topped and blonde bottom pixie cut and the heaviest eye make-up EVAH!
" Dudes, we're kinda surrounded right now... getting CLASTROPHOBIC IN HERE!!" blabbed the Orange Bandana Turtle (I couldn't help but to smile at this joke)
" Great. I want you to stay that way. How about I make it even better? With chains!"  cooed the Uniformed Kunoich, " FootBots, BIND THEM!"
All of a sudden the 'FootBots' protruded chains and seized at the Turtles.
" Not today, Karai!" exclaimed the Red Bandana Turtle.
Note to self: Saying Turtles Are Slow Is A Harsh Stereotype. Cause man, these guys were AMAZING. I ain't even kidding their ninjitsu was incredible, and each used their weapon in a style I have never seen before! The Purple Bandana Turtle used the Staff as weapon of choice, and used the wooden pole with grace and sneak. The Blue Bandana Turtle used the Katana and his combination was stealth and speed. The Orange Bandana Turtle used the Nunchucks but he used accurate and surprise. Last but not least the Red Bandana Turtle had chosen the Sai, understandable since he seemed to enjoy close combat and was pretty strong. By the time the turtles had gotten down to the three last FootBots, the girl known as Karai had decided to advance on the Blue and the two fought. The excitement that coursed through me that night I can't explain but seeing the rush of a fight got me going again. I felt alive. I felt like I was fighting again. During that stupid moment I had, I noticed that Red stopped moving and was looking at the shadow I was hiding in, he was looking at me. Crap, what if he sees me? I start going backwards to hide myself in the darkness, thinking I'd be safe then. But nope, Mister Red started to advance towards my direction. Since I had nowhere else to go, I started to panic, luckily Purple called Red for some assistance. When his head turned, I quickly dove under a abandoned truck and kept watching. It didn't last long though cause Karai called for a fallback (in other words retreat). Just as fast as they came the Turtles left and so did Karai and her FootBots, whatever was left of them. Somehow I knew I had to follow one of the groups, but which side? Out of strange instinct I thought would be best to follow the human girl and not the giant reptiles. I tailed after the Kunoich to her lair... turns out it looked like an abandoned church of some sort. I peered in through the glass on the roof And what I found inside was even more scary then what I had run into before. Their was a huge fish with robotic legs, a thin creepy black half human-half dog thing, a tiger dude, and a man in a battle uniform sitting on throne in the middle of it all.
" Its about time you showed up Karai. Where have you been? I was assigned to watch over you for the succession of capturing the Turtles." demanded the tiger.
" None of your business where I was TigerClaw, you don't have to babysit me! I can take care of myself so st-"
" Karai enough! I am your father and you will obey my orders. Is that clear?" scolded the apparent leader of the clan, cutting Karai off in mid-sentence. Karai looked at her dad with a annoyed look but bowed her head for respect.
" Master Shredder", murmurs the human dog, while sniffing the air " We have an intruder in the lair."
Before I had time to react, the bionic fish threw a ninja star directly at me. Dodging the sharp object quickly, I tripped and fell through one of the open windows. Even though it was probably a little higher than a 15 foot drop I managed to land on my feet perfectly. Next thing I know Doggie and TigerClaw bolt straight towards me, claws stretched out and ready to rip me to shreds. Using my speed I quickly move out of the way, hearing the attackers growls as they whiz by. Hastily I grabbed the Dog mans tail and throw him towards TigerClaw, knocking them both down with one blow.
Turning to Master Shredder I quickly bellow, " Call off your minions, I just wanna get some answers!"
Guess the dude was shocked at my impulse of anger towards him, cause he then told his warriors to stop.
" State your business, girl."
"My name is Mona Lisa TyNoi, and I was told by an elder of mine that my Destiny of Ninjitsu lies here in New York City. The elder said there are two Masters that will help me down the path. Yet one has a Traitorous Soul while the other has a Loyal Heart of Gold. Which Master are you?" I declare a little too professionally.
Intrigued Master Shredder stood up from his seat and looked at me through his mask.
" How long have you studied the Art of Ninjitsu?"
" 15 years and counting, sir."
" Do you have a title?"
" Yes. Mistress of Agility, sir"
" And which Master do you think I am, girl?"
My temper slightly rising I bark " I dunno. That's why I was asking you!"
Perhaps I shouldn't have done that. There's a reason why the guys a 'Master' but at that moment I didn't really care. It didn't seem to anger him though, instead his curiosity of me grew. And the next thing you know, I am apart of the Foot Clan.
